Here are two plots comparing the usage of “Obamacare” and “Affordable Care Act” in the Congressional Record since 2009. When Obamacare has been recorded, it has been overwhelmingly a Republican term, some 89 percent of the time, whereas the longer (and more correct) name of Affordable Care Act is used 68 percent of the time by Democrats.

Take from these graphs what you will – these are by no means substantive conclusions given the lack of context in the analysis, but provide a tool of measuring the political vocabulary, a battlefield where campaigns can and have been won and lost.
